Can the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor be reset without resorting to electronic diagnostic tools (scan gauge)?

Option 1

  1. Yes you can reset it yourself.
  2. Turn ignition on engine off
  3. Put it in drive or reverse
  4. Put the throttle to the floor and press the brake
  5. Quickly turn ignition off and on again before it goes into park(to prevent the engine starting)
  6. Hold the brake and throttle down for 30 seconds.

Option 2

  1. Push the ignition button on, no feet on any pedals
  2. Wait about 5 seconds
  3. Then simultaneously using two feet, press on the brake and accelerator. If you don’t wait about 5 seconds, engine might start and go to full revs, unless of course you’re quick enough to remove the right foot!?!?
  4. Hold for about 30 seconds
  5. This should clear the oil life monitor
