Can the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor be reset without resorting to electronic diagnostic tools (scan gauge)?
Option 1
- Yes you can reset it yourself.
- Turn ignition on engine off
- Put it in drive or reverse
- Put the throttle to the floor and press the brake
- Quickly turn ignition off and on again before it goes into park(to prevent the engine starting)
- Hold the brake and throttle down for 30 seconds.
Option 2
- Push the ignition button on, no feet on any pedals
- Wait about 5 seconds
- Then simultaneously using two feet, press on the brake and accelerator. If you don’t wait about 5 seconds, engine might start and go to full revs, unless of course you’re quick enough to remove the right foot!?!?
- Hold for about 30 seconds
- This should clear the oil life monitor
